few days ago I walked away from us, Archbishop Jozef Zycinski ... it was for me and my surroundings very sad because the information as inhabitants of Lublin and educated at Catholic University in a much more we feel the lack of this great persona. A great person that he really was.
Many times, even during their studies, I met him in the corridor university. Despite the enormity of their classes, never a student he has not forgotten. He lectured on philosophy, which also often allowed me to meet him, despite the fact that I personally never had classes with him and so has always treated us (students) as people familiar and equal. There was a day of the week - probably Thursday - when he is always in front of our classroom Archbishop ended his lectures and walked down the hallway when we were in anticipation of a stressful exercise conducted, and philosophical "conversation - often the marina next to us, or even talked with a pleasant and very warm friendly smile, said to us, God bless you !!!". It was a really great guy.
Such courage in proclaiming his beliefs were only envy him. I personally fascinated me with his openness to social action (the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) and the straight ,, struck "me as he went to Woodstock. Regretted terribly that I could not be there ...
He was a man who truly loved people and this love resulted from the enormous faith and humility. I hope the example of living our faith, or the Archbishop will strengthen the faith of many people.
These thoughts bring me, once again, the race discussion about the collapse of Polish philosophy. I do not know how it looks at other universities, but on the Kul-in is a very painful reality. Ends with a night of great philosophers, and they come into force, not so great successor. You can find a few more prominent names, however, the whole is no longer present as well. In general, in recent years, just go see a great people (not only related to the Kul-I)-Kolakowski, Tischner, Action, KrÄ…piec, Zielinski now Zycinski. I miss their successors. Or maybe they're just not discovered them yet? I do not know. But these thoughts, you really make me great sadness ...
